College Checklist Tool

What it is:
A fully editable college packing checklist with two versions — one for dorm life (shared room) and one for an apartment. It covers 13 categories and 150+ items across everything from bedding and clothing to tech, health, kitchen, and move-in day essentials.

 

Switching versions:
Use the Dorm / Apartment toggle at the top. The apartment version adds a Furniture category and expands kitchen, bathroom, and safety items accordingly. Each version loads independently, so edits in one don't affect the other.

 

Editing:

• Click any category name or item text to rename it directly

• Hover over an item to reveal the × button and delete it

• Type in the dashed field at the bottom of any category and press Enter to add a new item

• Use the "Add category" button to create a whole new section — just type a name and start adding items

Checking things off:

Click the checkbox next to any item as you pack it. Hit "Clear all checks" in the toolbar to reset everything at once.

Printing/saving as PDF:

Click "Save / Print PDF." The page transforms into a compact 3-column layout — no boxes, just clean category headers and item lists — ready to print on a single sheet or save as a PDF to share.

The checklist is meant to be a starting point. Everyone's situation is different, so delete what doesn't apply and add whatever's missing for your specific school, climate, or lifestyle.
